I’m Joe. I’ve been writing about music, media and culture in various corners of the Internet since 2008. My writing has been in publications like The Guardian, The Independent, The New Statesman, The NME and Time Out. The main place I write is noripcord.com, where I’m also part of regular “new music for people who think the 1990s was ten years ago” podcast, Quarantine the Past.

One Life is my attempt at a project that’s more personal and—let’s be honest—therapeutic. I’m going through the list of UK Number 1 singles in chronological order and, if it corresponds to a particular time in my life, a feeling, a memory, a sentiment, or just something that captures my imagination, I’ll write a post about it. Nostalgia is a powerful thing, and I’d love to hear about your recollections of particular songs and what they mean to you, too.
